Saint Seraphim of Sarov Eastern Orthodox Mission

Serving the San Francisco East Bay

Who Are We?

We are an Eastern Orthodox mission serving the San Francisco East Bay under the omophorion of Bishop Symeon. Our faith is at one with all the Eastern Orthodox Churches. We follow the Russian typikon and have no differences with other Eastern Orthodox Christians on theology, doctrine nor liturgics. As a community we continue to teach and study for ourselves the teachings of the historic Church, inspired by the operation of the Holy Spirit which guided the fathers in its Councils and the members of the whole Church who accepted them over hundreds of years. With respect to "orthopraxis" however all of the Eastern Orthodox Churches have some different practices among themselves.

Our Orthodox Services follow the Russian typicon however we strive through our a capella music and art to be truly pan-orthodox.

All are welcome to our services. Orthodox Christians may receive Holy Communion if they are prepared by fasting, prayer and confession. If you are new to our community, please speak to the Priest in advance. Non-Orthodox christians and those unprepared are encouraged to approach to receive a blessing.
