The Development of Our A Cappella Choir
We are currently chanting in unison while we are in the process of gathering together enough dedicated people for a choir. We generally sing a cappella, without musical instruments, in the Orthodox Church.
We welcome all those who would like the opportunity to sing the beautiful Russian Orthodox sacred liturgical music. The creative joys received from singing are not only a beautiful service to the Church but also to one's own spirit. We are also intending to take quartets to convalescent homes and other places where we can be of service, both SATB and TTBB.
It is not necessary to have prior choral experience or even to be Orthodox as long as you can discriminate between musical notes, hear other people singing with you and benefit from musical training. You won't know whether you can do it or not until you actually try. Only a very few people have actual tone deafness.
